Building from Strength: Ten-Year Family Violence Industry Plan for Family Violence Prevention and Response was launched on 7 December, by The Hon Gavin Jennings MLC Special Minister of State. The plan will focus on a system that works together; strengthening the specialist workforce; prevention and response capability; and workforce health and well-being.
At the centre of the 10-Year Industry Plan ‘is a flexible and dynamic workforce that puts equality, safety and accountability at the core of everything they do.
‘This includes the specialist family violence and primary prevention workforces and other sectors that work with victim survivors, including children, and perpetrators of family violence, such as community services, health, justice and education and training.
‘The Industry Plan was a key recommendation of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and was developed in close collaboration with victim survivors, Aboriginal and diverse communities, the community sector and government agencies.’
The first three-year Rolling Action Plan is expected to be released in May 2018, which will detail implementation for the Industry Plan.
