Victoria Police have developed a new family violence response model which includes: family violence investigation units; police case prioritisation and response model; a mandatory force-wide multi-modal training program; and a new evidence-based family violence risk assessment and risk management tool – Family Violence Report (L17).
The new L17 includes questions for and about children; scoring for identified high-risk indicators; MARAM indicators; questions that access historical records in LEAP and that allow victims to choose to identify with communities of meaning to them for referrals and/or to identify a need for specialist assistance to participate in the police process.
The new L17 has been piloted and subject to an assessment of this controlled release, an organisation-wide release is being prepared for 23 July 2019.
