Victoria’s Ending Family Violence ten-year plan was launched on 24 November 2016. The plan sets out the vision for the next 10 years and outlines how the Royal Commission recommendations will be delivered.
The plan features areas that have already been initiated, including increased funding to the family violence and family services sector and a rapid housing response. Future plans include establishing Support and Safety Hubs, expanding Specialist Family Violence Courts, establishing a Centre for Workforce Excellence and building the capacity of universal services to identify and respond to family violence.
Premier Daniel Andrews announced, on 25 November 2016, that one of the first Support and Safety hubs will be launched in the North-East Melbourne area. Sites will also be seeded in Barwon, inner Gippsland, Mallee and Bayside.
A Family Violence Plan website has been launched by the Victorian Government to support the 10 year plan.
