Event Details

This half day training aims to build on accountable and ethical practice by promoting an intersectional, reflexive lens when working with men who use family violence from CALD communities. It aims to draw on case studies from Arabic, South Sudanese, Maori and Vietnamese contexts to touch on the variety of ways gendered power imbalances play out in different CALD communities, the common barriers to service engagement that CALD communities face, and the power dynamic that exists within mainstream services engaging with CALD clients.

Who is this training for?

Anyone working in a social work setting with men who may be using family violence and are from CALD backgrounds (preference will be given to MBCP facilitators depending on demand)
