Event Details
This one day interactive training is aimed at mainstream/universal service providers (non FV specific Workers) who are seeking to strengthen their practice in building and sustaining relationship with CALD clients. The training enables participants to reflect on their own and clients’ cultural context and examine how these may impact on the worker/client relationships. The training aims to increase participants’ confidence in supporting CALD women experiencing family violence and raise awareness of the additional challenges they face.
Learning Objectives:
- Enhance the understanding of family violence in a CALD context
- Develop an understanding of how culture and migration history affects client’s capacity to seek and sustain support
- Develop an understanding of how culture affects our perspective as workers
- Develop an understanding on how to identify and respond to family violence in a CALD context.
