Presented by Alan Baker, this seminar provides an overview of the key aspects of the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) and outline some of the critical issues for professionals who work with high conflict families in a therapeutic capacity. It will offer an opportunity for professionals in the field to comprehend and contextualize their legal obligations to help streamline understandings and practices.

This seminar will cover concepts including ‘the best interests of the child’, parental responsibility and family violence within the context of the Family Law Act as well as the musts, the may’s and must not’s of family counselling. The confidentiality of Family Counsellor’s and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners and the admissibility of evidence will also be explored as part of this presentation.

Afternoon tea will be provided for attendees to network with other professionals who work within the sector.
