The Victorian Government announced funding of $3.8 million for women’s health services, including Women’s Health In the North, to work with regional partners on the primary prevention of violence against women.
This will directly support WHIN’s work with councils, health and community organisations across Melbourne’s north over the next four years.
Minister for the Prevention of Family Violence, Natalie Hutchins MP, announced this funding, alongside the launch of the first action plan ‘Free from Violence’, the Victorian Governments strategy to prevent violence against women.
This funding will support local communities and their workforces to better understand what drives violence against women, and ultimately prevent it from occurring in the first place.
