The UN’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign dedicated to end violence against women and girls. The campaign runs from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to the 10 December (International Human Rights Day).
In the northern metropolitan region, WHIN is leading a gender equitable and inclusive social media campaign: ‘Taking Action for Gender Equality Every Day’.
The 16 days began with WHIN staff participating in the Walk Against Family Violence, this year a “Walk from Home” event. The walk to raise awareness of family violence is organised by Domestic Violence Victoria and Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre.
