We hope you all have a well-earned break over summer. This year the sector has continued to respond to a high level of demand and to enhance practice through integration as well as contribute to reforms such as the Information Sharing Legislation, Support and Safety Hubs, and Therapeutic Intervention programs.
The NIFVS team has coordinated a range of integration work this year. Under the guidance of the Regional Integration Committee, we have coordinated regional project and capacity building and contributed to consultations for statewide reforms.
The team has developed new training and resources in response to identified needs including the ‘Working with Male Perpetrators of Family Violence: Reflections on Collusion’ training and a Multilanguage posters. The team facilitated three forums including the ‘What She Needs to Know Forum’, which received unprecedented positive feedback and clearly provided critical legal information for workers. In addition NIFVS continued to resource the sector including providing 27 Identifying Family Violence sessions for 829 workers.
From all of us on the NIFVS coordination team, we applaud the incredible hard work of partners across the integrated family violence service system and beyond. We wish you all a safe and happy holiday season and look forward to seeing you all back refreshed in 2018.
Best wishes. Sarah, Ada & Robin.
