The new Family Violence Information Sharing scheme will commence on 26 February 2018 and the Information Sharing Guidelines have been released. The first tranche of Information Sharing Entities have been identified in the guidelines. Training for these services is being developed by DVRCV and Women’s Legal Service and will be rolled out in January and February 2018. A summary of the guidelines are available.
‘The Act will create an information sharing scheme that authorises a select group of information sharing entities (ISEs) to share information between themselves for risk assessment and risk management.’
In addition, the Children Legislation Amendment (Information Sharing) Bill 2017 has been introduced to the Victoria Parliament and aims to create a streamlined information sharing system between professional entities such as Maternal and Child Health, hospitals and schools.
