A My Health Record will be created for every Australian who has not opted out by 31 January 2019. The new system may present particular concerns for victim survivors of family violence.
On Tuesday 5 February, the Australian Digital Health Agency will hold a Family Safety Consultation Workshop to seek input from key stakeholders that support people experiencing family and domestic violence, including representatives from health jurisdictions, and key consumer peak bodies and community organisations.
The workshop will provide an overview of the My Health Record legislation changes relating to family violence. It will also include an interactive session regarding input into tailored education and communication materials to support consumers to use the My Health Record effectively and safely, and provide guidance to organisations that work with people experiencing family violence.
