Eleri Butler has been appointed as the new chief executive of Family Safety Victoria. She will make the move to Australia from Wales next year, where she is currently chief executive of Welsh Women’s Aid, a national charity that works to end domestic abuse and all forms of violence against women.
Eleri Butler has worked for over 28 years in a variety of capacities on family violence and preventing violence against women, in the voluntary and public sectors at local, regional and national levels. Before returning to Wales, she was CEO of family violence and women’s services in London.
Minister for Prevention of Family Violence Gabrielle Williams thanked Acting CEO Annette Lancy and Family Safety Victoria’s inaugural CEO, Sue Clifford APM, for their exceptional leadership and dedication.
Eleri Butler will begin her role in late March 2020.
