Sophie Moore is the new Family Violence Network Convenor with City of Yarra. Based at the Neighbourhood Justice Centre (NJC), Sophie’s broader remit is as the Family Violence Partnerships Coordinator. The main responsibilities of her role are to develop and foster community partnerships that build community capacity, promote community justice and contribute to a vibrant, safe and inclusive City of Yarra within the areas of family violence and diversity.
Sophie is a lawyer by training who specialises in capacity building and legal empowerment initiatives. Prior to joining the NJC, Sophie worked in the higher education and not-for-profit sectors where she partnered with CALD and newly arrived communities to co-design and deliver a range of projects to promote gender equality, multiculturalism and access to justice.
