The Building a Respectful Community Evaluation Report 2017–19 brings together data from 24 organisations to evaluate primary prevention of violence against women action across Melbourne’s north and the Building a Respectful Community (BRC) Partnership approach.
It reports on the first two years of implementation of the BRC Strategy and will inform future directions and actions for the next two years. The report provides insight into the depth and breadth of prevention work occurring across the northern metropolitan region (NMR) and shows examples of how organisations are creating more gender equitable workplaces and strengthening community activism and women’s leadership.
The evaluation was conducted by Inner North West Primary Care Partnership, in collaboration with Women’s Health In the North (WHIN) and with the BRC Partnership.
WHIN provides leadership and resourcing for strategic regional partnerships to prevent violence against women. This includes leading the implementation and evaluation of the Building a Respectful Community Strategy 2017–2021 and convening and resourcing the NMR Preventing Violence Against Women Committee.
