On 13 April 2016, the Victorian Government officially launched Roadmap for Reform: strong families, safe children. Consistent with the Family Violence Royal Commission’s approach, the Roadmap will shift the focus of child protection away from crisis response to prevention and early intervention.
The Roadmap for Reform will deliver a system focused on:
- strengthening communities to better prevent neglect and abuse
- delivering early support to children and families at risk
- keeping more families together through crisis
- securing a better future for children who cannot live at home.
The $168 million dollar package forms part of the Victorian Government’s initial response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence.
