Through a $17.4 million investment, specialist family violence advisers will work with major mental health and AOD services across Victoria in joined-up action to respond to family violence.
This is part of a $133.2 million package being directed by the Victorian Government to provide more housing support for those experiencing family violence.
New public housing properties will also be provided specifically for women and children experiencing family violence and funding will be directed towards redeveloping refuges, including two new Aboriginal refuges. The new refuges will be designed as core and cluster facilities. (Source: Premiers Media Centre, 28/5/17)
