The Orange Door (TOD) Hume Moreland is aiming to open in late November 2021, with the primary site based at the Global Learning Centre in Broadmeadows. Access points will then open in 2022 in Sunbury and the Craigieburn area. An outposting in Moreland is also being explored.
The Orange Door Hume Moreland brings together workers from the following partner agencies:
- Berry Street (specialist family violence services)
- Uniting (family services)
- VACCA and VACSAL (Aboriginal services)
- DPV Health (services for men who use violence)
At present two staff have been employed by Family Safety Victoria: Alysha Batty (Hub Manager) and Kate Bevan-John (Service System Navigator).
Hume Moreland TOD has also been selected to be part of a trial with Rainbow Health through La Trobe University to look at how TODs can increase the capacity of the workforce to respond to the LGBTIQA+ community.
