A new Victoria Police Manual Family Violence has been developed, which covers family violence policy for the organisation.
In February 2021, as a result of Victoria’s Police reforms the inaugural family violence policy was issued under the Victoria Police Act 2013, section 60. The policy is known as the Victoria Police Manual (VPM) Family Violence and is the single source of truth for police officers responding to and investigating family violence.
The Code of Practice will now be repositioned and retained as Victoria’s Police externally focused summary of police responses and investigations of family violence.
