The Victorian Government this month announced $4 million in funding for family violence services. The funding includes $1.4 million over four years for Domestic Violence Victoria. A $2 million investment will fund 17 family violence workers to help respond to referrals that come from Victoria Police. A further $600,000 will improve responses to Aboriginal people who are victims of family violence.
The money is part of a $17.7 million Victorian Government commitment to family violence services.
The government also announced $1 million for men’s behaviour change programs and the Men’s Referral Service. This funding is part of the Government’s $81.3 million package to boost family violence services, including the establishment of the Royal Commission into Family Violence.
