Women’s Legal Services Australia (WLSA) is conducting a survey about women’s experiences of family law court.
Currently, there is no specific protection in family law preventing a perpetrator of family violence who is representing themselves without a lawyer from directly cross examining the victim/survivor at trial. This can re-traumatise the victim/survivor and has a lot of other concerning consequences.
WLSA is interested in gathering information about the extent and impact of these experiences and hopes to use this evidence to convince decision-makers about the need for the law to be changed.
Victims/survivors are asked to complete this short survey about their experiences.
