Elizabeth Morgan House – Crisis Accommodation Program
Elizabeth Morgan House (EMH) have recently launched the Crisis Accommodation Program (CAP) to address the urgent need for culturally safe, trauma informed emergency accommodation for Aboriginal women and children.
Aboriginal women and their children often face barriers to accessing appropriate emergency accommodation, and the aim of this program is to remove these barriers and make it easy for our women and their children to get the support they need, when they need it the most.
CAP is committed to delivering 1,095 nights of crisis accommodation annually over two years – helping 2,190 families escape unsafe situations and overcrowding.
EMH are committed to offering secure refuge during family violence crises, reducing trauma and uncertainty for those facing homelessness or housing instability. CAP ensures seamless connections to essential services, helping families access the right support while also providing the necessities they need during their stay in Emergency Accommodation.
The Crisis Accommodation Program is open to Aboriginal women & their children. This support also extends to parents of Aboriginal children, as well as partners and ex-partners of Aboriginal people. As a Rainbow Tick Organisation, the CAP is open to all people that identify with the LGTQIA+ community also.
Referrals are open to North, South, East & West Metro Melbourne.
If you have a client that is currently impacted by Family Violence and is needing access to emergency accommodation, please get in contact with our Intake & Triage Team to arrange a secondary consult.
