Welcome to the new NIFVS Independent Chair
NIFVS is pleased to announce the appointment of Rhonda Cumberland as Independent Chair of the NIFVS Family Violence Regional Integration Committee.
Rhonda is a leader in the family and sexual violence sectors.
The organising principles of feminism, intersectionality and independence have guided Rhonda’s career over several decades.
She has held senior executive roles, including CEO of South East Community Links, inaugural CEO of Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand and CEO of Safe Steps. As Director of the Office of Women’s Policy in the Victorian Government, she co-chaired the State-wide Steering Committee to Reduce Family Violence and led the development of the Common Risk Assessment Framework.
Rhonda brings extensive regulation and governance expertise, with ministerial appointments to the Victorian Institute of Teaching and the Police Registration and Services Board, and currently is a member of the Australian Dental Board. She is a consumer representative on the Appeals Panel of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Rhonda previously spent five years as a Councillor for the City of Melbourne.
She holds a Master of Social Policy and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Melbourne.
