What is Building Bridges

Building Bridges is an annual NIFVS activity that provides participants with the opportunity to share diverse perspectives, engage in critical discuss, and strengthen cross-sector collaboration in line with the MARAM Framework.

Who is Building Bridges for? 

Building Bridges is open to all specialist and non-specialist family violence practitioners in the Northern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne (NMR). 
This event would be particularly suited to practitioners in the NMR working in roles that engage with young children as part of their work and regularly also respond to past and current experiences of family violence.

Can I access additional support during the event? 

NIFVS are committed to making sure the event is accessible and safe, regardless of ability, identities, language, age, culture or experiences. We welcome any and all knowledge about specific needs that will help us to tailor our event delivery to best meet the needs of all participants.

Accessibility  

For venue accessibility requirements, please view and download the Venue Access Key.

Staff members will welcome you from outside the venue and will support individual needs throughout the day.

A designated staff member will also provide additional support if you need to debrief and / or require further assistance during the event.

A sensory box with fidget toys and textured objects will be available at the entrance.

AUSLAN interpreters are available during the morning session upon request (during online registration).
All documents and resources will be available in accessible format on the NIFVS website.

We have planned frequent breaks throughout the day.

Is the event free?

There is a $50 nominal fee that will allow up to cover part of the catering costs.
