Berry Street Northern Specialist Family Violence Service (NSFVS)
Eaglemont. VIC 3084
Berry Street’s Northern Specialist Family Violence (NSFVS) provide services to victim survivors of family violence and their children, inclusive of cis-gendered heterosexual women and people from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer Community (LGBTIQ+) through a range of specialist family violence programs. Services include specialist family violence responses across short, medium term and intensive time frames, and family violence counselling.
These responses can be accessed by contacting the Hume Moreland Orange Door or NEMA Orange Door. The Orange Door practitioner will provide a ‘screening, intake and triage service prioritising and commencing risk management responses’. The Orange Door practitioner will connect and coordinate further support for victim survivors by referring to NSFVS for a specialist family violence service response including case management and counselling as required. Practitioners can encourage victim survivors to contact the Orange Doors directly or assist clients to call.
In partnership with Baptcare, Berry Street also provides a program for women to explore family safety and alternatives to force in their intimate relationships. Positive Shift involves weekly group work (16 sessions total) and case support over 16 weeks. It uses a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach. For more information about group work, see the current northern region group work calendar.
