The Salvation Army Family Violence Crisis and Support Services

The Salvation Army Supported Accommodation and Afterhours Crisis Responses programs provide a range of support services to women and children fleeing domestic and family violence. This includes:

  • Crisis and transitional accommodation (short-term and long-term refuge, transitional housing)
  • Afterhours Crisis and Transitional Support
  • Specialist Family Violence Outreach Case management
  • Safety planning
  • Advocacy, material aid and financial assistance
  • Connection and referral to other specialist services
  • Therapeutic Family Violence groups for women, young people, and children in supported accommodation.

The Salvation Army collaborates with clients to support their individual goals. All programs are inclusive and sensitive to the needs of individuals from all backgrounds (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons, people who identify as part of the LGBTQI+ community, people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities and persons with a disability).

Referrals for the Family Violence Supported Accommodation Program are made via Safe Steps and specialist family violence services.
