Dardi Munwurro Indigenous Men’s Group
Preston. VIC 3072
Dardi Munwurro “Strong Spirit” was established in 2000 to provide leadership training programs and personalised coaching specifically tailored to Indigenous men.
The programs are designed to assist Indigenous men to identify their emotions and personal strengths and in doing so, discover their own leadership potential and develop a vision for their lives. The aim is to equip Indigenous men to become leaders, role models and mentors within their communities.
Dardi Munwurro offers a Men’s Healing and Behaviour Change Program with an intensive residential diversion response. A Family Engagement & Safety Worker supports the family (partner & children, ex-partner, mother or siblings) whilst the man is program participant of the residential program at Ngarra Jarranounith Place.
The aim of the work is to build protective factors, empower indigenous men, recognise leadership potential, promote help-seeking behaviour, build stronger and safer communities.
For more information about group work, see the current northern region group work calendar.
Dardi Munwurro also has 24-hour phone support ‘Brother to Brother’ for Aboriginal men.
