inTouch – Power and Control Wheel for migrant and refugee communities

This version of the Power and Control Wheel developed by inTouch in partnership with the lived and living experience survivor advocates group NOOR, is intended to complement the original Duluth model, by highlighting additional forms of control and coercion shaped by migration, culture, language, visa status and systemic oppression.

For migrant and refugee victim survivors, violence isn’t necessarily only perpetrated by intimate partners.

Violence can be perpetrated by multiple perpetrators, including family, extended family and community members, and can include transnational forms of violence where perpetrators may be overseas.
